The EY Tower, is a 40 storey, 900,000 ft² LEED Platinum, Class AAA building. LEED Platinum features include a high performance building envelope and mechanical systems. The tower retains the facade at its base of a historic 14-story art deco era building that originally opened in 1928. HGC Engineering provided base-building acoustical design assistance including noise and vibration solution strategies for penthouse amenities and multiple mid-rise express elevators. We also provided acoustical engineering services for the LEED Gold  fit-out of the new headquarters for OMERS, the Ontario government employees pension fund company. The new headquarters on the 9th to 25th floor of the Tower consolidates 1300 personnel scattered across 5 business units into one 368,534 rsf. centralized location. Key fit-out features include: Main Reception Area; Private offices and meeting rooms; Open office/workstation areas; Small Telephone/Privacy Enclaves; Open Cafes/Social Spaces (with games area); Learning and Fitness/Wellness Centres; and Conference Centre
