Location: Edmonton, Alberta

The Edmonton Clinic Health Academy, North Building, is one of four projects designed as part of a master development plan co-partnered by the University of Alberta (UA) and the province’s health service organization Alberta Health Services. This state-of-the-art LEED: Silver  500,000 square feet facility, focuses on healthcare education and research.
HGC Engineering reviewed the design of building services and provided recommendations to limit noise and vibration. HGC Engineering was also responsible for all acoustics, noise and vibration issues related to the teaching facility’s 500, 400, 300, 200 and 150-seat lecture halls.
We also investigated the source of excessive vibration as part of an assessment of location suitability for vibrationally sensitive healthcare and laboratory equipment and provided recommendations to reduce vibration in this large award-winning health service organization.
We also provided noise, vibration and control services on the Health Academy’s sister project, the Edmonton Clinic South.
