PVC Resin Plant

Sarnia Ontario pvc-plant wind induced vibration control

Location: Sarnia, Ontario
Owner/Operator: Royal Polymers

Before its recent closure, Royal Polymers was a PVC resin plant located in Sarnia’s “chemical valley”. The facility made plastic material for use in products such as vinyl siding, windows and patio furniture. The plant had the capacity to produce 450 million pounds of PVC resin annually.  HGC Engineering was called upon to develop appropriate design measures to address the potential for destructive wind-induced vibration in a tall, thin stack at the plant.
