HGC Engineering provided extensive noise, vibration and acoustical consulting services to this $32 million, 70,000 sq. ft. project. This Community Centre Phase 2 addition features both comprehensive aquatics and fitness facilities. The aquatics components include indoor “competition-ready” lap and leisure pools, outdoor skating pond and water feature. The fitness centre includes a fieldhouse for weight-training and cardio equipment, a running track, a large aerobics/spinning room and smaller yoga/dance studio, all in proximity to change rooms, party room, staff office and meeting spaces which meant assessing the structural vibration impact of the raised running track in relation to other noise and vibration sensitive areas.
